VikingMan Moves Race Date to September

Here’s a note from Triton teammate Bill Schell, regarding the VikingMan race series in Heyburn, Idaho. The series includes a half iron, half iron aquabike, olympic tri, olympic aquabike, and an olympic duathlon.

Art – Thought a September half within 6 hours of home might be of interest to club members. I did this race a couple of years ago. It was well organized, many will like the downriver swim, I wouldn’t call it scenic. Bill

VIKINGMAN ANNOUNCEMENT

VikingMan Moves!

Dear Triathletes,

VikingMan Triathlon has moved to Sept. 11!

After many years of requests, we have finally made it happen! Our race committee could not be more excited to offer a September Triathlon. Our local law enforcement, volunteer groups, search and rescue and ambulance services have agreed to have the race moved to Saturday, September 11! These changes will make the race faster, safer and more family friendly.

Every year we have worked hard to improve the race and this year is no different. The new bike course is comprised of multiple loops that eliminate the high traffic state highways and intersections, greatly improving spectator participation and involvement as well as increasing safety and making for more exciting finishes. (And we do boast that we have the coolest trophies for our placing finishers!) The transition area has been moved right next to the swim exit. And the date change will provide much warmer water for the swim! These changes, along with great new sponsorships and more community support will make this year’s race the best in VikingMan history!

This year’s race will be one you don’t want to miss and we would like to invite you to participate with us this September. We have given this change much deliberation and know this year’s race will be faster, safer and more family and spectator friendly.

Please visit www.vikingman.org for all of the exciting details. See you in September!

Sincerely,

Your VikingMan Team

Happy Daylight Savings

Was re-reading one of my favorite books recently.  Came across this quote and thought it would be good to share.

“What we tell ourselves can either help us or hurt us, depending on what the message is.” -Jerry Lynch

So keep on keeping on.

For Those Not Doing the Rendezvous This Weekend!

Hello everyone! It looks like the weather will be decent this Saturday for a ride outside, and some hills are screaming at us.  For those interested, I will host a hill workout this weekend.  We will meet at The Club in Bozeman (448 East Main, right near Fleet Feet Sports)  Come prepared for colder weather!  In case of extreme weather conditions, it will be canceled.  Call Matthew at 580-7987 if you are interested!  Total ride length will be around 90 minutes.  Happy training!
