2010 Ford Ironman World Championship Highlights

Vodpod videos no longer available.

What a race last weekend! Wellington bows out. Reminiscent of the Scott vs. Allen 1989 IronWar, McCormack and Raelert go tactical in the last few miles, and Macca’s experience wins out. Carfrae powers her way past Dibens in the marathon. Lost in the post-race hoopla, Carfrae finishes in 8:58, only four minutes behind Wellington’s 2009 world record pace. Enjoy these TriCenter highlights, and get ready for next year. RACE ON.

The Bozeman Triathlon Club has unanimously selected Becky, Lawrence, Bill, Laurie, Tony and Art as members of the inaugural 2011 Triton A Team. The A Team represents another Triton first, established through the generous support and sponsorship of Bangtail Bikes. Membership on the Triton A Team is an honor, and a reward for Triton core members who are proactive in volunteering and supporting the Club, triathlons and cycling in the Bozeman community. Members embody the spirit of the multisport lifestyle. While serving as a visible ambassador for the sport is the priority, Triton A Team members do receive special fringe benefits from its partners at Bangtail Bikes, Trek and Specialized. Triton A Team members have the opportunity to experience the same fast rides as Lance Armstrong, Team RadioShack, and the Trek/K-Swiss Triathlon Team. Congratulations to the 2011 Triton A Team, and best wishes for proudly representing the Bozeman Triathlon Club and fueling the multisport lifestyle in the year ahead!

Riding the new Trek Speed Concept, Trek/K-Swiss Triathlete Chris Lieto had the fastest bike split at the 2009 Kona Ironman World Championship. According to the August 2010 edition of Triathlete Magazine, “The Speed Concept 9 Series’ combination of fit, adjustability, aerodynamics, drop-dead good looks, and usability make it the best tri bike on the road today.”

Dave Scott Free e-Program

While we’re basking in the warm weather down south in Boulder, I noticed that freezing rain was forecast for Bozeman this week. Fall has arrived up north. Tritons, it’s time to work on some of those flabby areas. I’m going to send you a sample program from my website that you can all try over the next 6 weeks. I have mountains of programs that will address all your strength needs. Check out my website at www.davescottinc.com and let me know how you do on this e-program. I’m sure Art’s magnificent 6-pack is a good goal for all of you. Paste the following link http://davescottinc.com/total-body-tri-101/  into your browser and check your Triton email for the password.

2009 Ironman World Championship Re-Airs on Sunday, or you could just…

Vodpod videos no longer available.

NBC re-airs the dramatic 2009 Ford Ironman World Championship from Kona, Hawaii this Sunday, August 8, 2010 from 3:00 – 4:30 PM ET (check local listings). The telecast received three Emmy nominations and highlights the physical and emotional journey taken by athletes during the renowned 140.6-mile event

Alternatively, you could choose to view the entire broadcast, at your leisure, and in high-definition, by clicking on the actual clips below. Personally, I like checking the bike set-ups, especially in the clip above, while making liberal use of the pause feature.

Best of luck to our Tritons racing this weekend — Molly, Milica, Chris, Megan & Ryan — and enjoy the Sweet Pea weekend! RACE ON.

The Club is pleased to announce that Bangtail Bikes is elevating its sponsorship of the Bozeman Triathlon Club.
