Race Update – 4 Days Left for Early Registration

USA Triathlon Sanctioned Event Offers Races for All Ages, Abilities, Entire Family
During Fun-filled Weekend of July 30, 31 at East Gallatin Recreation Area

Regular Registration Ends June 30!

A quick update for those who have been holding off on registering.  We know you are out there!  Only 4 days left to save a few bucks on your race registration.  Our numbers continue to look great, so why not join in on the fun.  Race solo, or put together a team.  It’s sure to be a grand weekend.

We’ve added a second start wave to the Sprint race.  This will help the slower swimmers, or just those that are a little bit nervous about the swim, have a great race experience.  You can select your start wave on the registration form.  I’ll send out an email in a few weeks to get your choice from every those of you who have already registered.  Also, we are unfortunately dropping the Youth Race from Saturday’s events.  This race was actually being put on by the City of Bozeman, with help from the Bozeman Triathlon Club.  For a number of reasons, the City has chosen to not host the race.  Hopefully they will pull something together later in the summer.

Keep in mind that the race is a fund raiser for the Montana Conservation Corps (http://www.mtcorps.org/).  A portion of race profits will be donated to MCC in a effort to support their ongoing efforts to both provide hands-on conservation and education growth and learning opportunities for youth and young adults.  Their impacts are noticeable throughout the region through their work in local communities and public lands.   Donations can be made when registering, or through the following link:  http://www.active.com/donate/mtcorps

Please help the Bozeman Tritons raise money for this important cause.  The website is secure, fast and easy to use.  At the website you will be able to choose an amount to donate and receive email confirmation of your donation. I will be notified via email as soon as you make your donation. Thank you, and please forward this email to as many people as you can to encourage more people to donate!

Complete race details can be found at www.bozemantritons.org/tritonstri. If you have a question about the race, contact us at racedirector@bozemantritons.org.   Train hard and we’ll see you soon!

Race Update – Spring in Bozeman!

USA Triathlon Sanctioned Event Offers Races for All Ages, Abilities, Entire Family
During Fun-filled Weekend of July 30, 31 at East Gallatin Recreation Area

Wow!  Just last week we were seeing winter storm warnings in the area.  But I just got back from the East Gallatin Recreation Area, the site of the Bozeman Tritons Triathlon, and am pleased to say that I swam!  Open water swimming is definitely doable now.  A wetsuit is required, but I’ve competed in several races with colder water than what we have in the pond.  So this is great news for those training for the race.

Thanks to all who have already responded about volunteering.  We really appreciate you stepping up and helping out.  I just posted the volunteer positions list (Volunteer List).  Take a look and let us know what looks good to you.  If you are a certified flagger, certified lifeguard, or have a canoe or kayak and are willing to help out with water safety, please let us know.  If you are interested in helping out take a look at the list and contact Laurie at laurie.thatcher@gmail.com

Complete race details can be found at www.bozemantritons.org/tritonstri. If you have a question about the race, contact us at racedirector@bozemantritons.org.   Train hard and we’ll see you soon!

Bozeman Tritons Triathlon – 5 Month Update

Bozeman Tritons Triathlon

Saturday, July 30 and 31, 2011

5 Months and Counting until the Bozeman Tritons Triathlon!

www.bozemantritons.org/tritonstri

A quick update for everyone who is tracking the BTT.  It may have been -12 F this morning here in Bozeman, but the race committee is busy planning on all fronts.  Registrations are rolling in as people plan out their race seasons.  5 months also means that your 20 week training plans should be kicking in.  Don’t wait for the ice to thaw on the pond.  Get in the pool, get on your rollers, and get your running shoes on!

We have a full weekend of racing on tap with something for everyone.  The Long-Course (formerly the Headwaters Half) and Youth Race (variable distances for those under 16) are both on Saturday.  Sunday’s Sprint and Junior races (formerly the Treasure State Tri) are perfect for everyone.   Something for the entire family.  Or double up for a real challenge.  Individuals, pairs and teams of three are welcome.  Also in the works are a mini-expo and possible spaghetti feed.  More on that as we get details worked out.

A reminder also that early registration ends on March 31.  But, why wait?  Register today at www.active.com.

Train on!

-The BTT Race Team
